 Some time ago, Apartment Therapy signed a lease, settled in, and opened its doors to weary renters from across the Web. Dispensing realistic yet chic advice for life in cramped quarters, the site quickly gained a well-deserved following. Today, anyone can seek solace in its metro-specific listings, recommendations, and blog posts. But it's the house tours that have healed us most. In photo excursions through domiciles in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and the occasional desert playa, we have visited sleek, one-bedroom dwellings; viewed playfully colorful rooms; and lingered in the light-filled abode of a Windy City architect. Each outing encourages close inspection, offers workaday tips and tricks, and rarely fails to inspire. Special mention must be reserved for "Jack's really small home" in Manhattan's Times Square. This laudable soul lives in an apartment that clocks in at 160 square feet. That's not an apartment. It's an exercise in well-organized, mentally fit living.
