Pinewood Dialogues Serious film fans will want to linger in this treasure trove of interviews with some of cinema's most intriguing cult figures. Despite the fact that it's hosted by the Museum of the Moving Image, the collection doesn't include any moving images. But the extended talks cover some of the great movies and artiest failures of the silver screen. Highlights include Francis Ford Coppola discussing his box office flop "One From the Heart"; Todd Haynes talking about his vibrant glam rock homage/Davie Bowie critique "Velvet Goldmine"; and David Lynch returning to the elusive "Lost Highway." David Cronenberg muses on the overlooked "Spider," screenwriter Buck Henry reminisces about "The Graduate," and a highly entertaining John Waters laments both the tame PG rating slapped on "Hairspray" and the way the Beatles ruined pop music. You can listen online, download MP3s, or just read transcripts. Cinephiles rejoice. (in Movies & Film > Directors) |
