The All-TIME 100 Albums
Naming  the all-time greatest albums is always a dangerous proposition. Countless road trips, office friendships, and family holidays have been ruined by an unfortunate walk down this path. Inviting endless argument, TIME has bravely stepped up and declared its musical picks by decade. From the 1950s and Frank Sinatra to a 2005 Hank Williams collection, the 100 different albums listed here offer the perfect excuse to dance through the years (or shake your fist at the sky). Each disc's page gives an explanation of why the music critics chose it, but if clicking on each is a pain, just listen to the accompanying podcasts.
