Micro Images Blog Bigger isn't necessarily better. Small things are cool too, right? How can you not appreciate a bit of dust when it looks like this? And what about those pesky flies? See, they're not so bad close up. Today's Pick takes ordinary objects and puts them, quite literally, under the microscope. Blown up between 50 and 5,000 times, common household stuff takes on a form and beauty all its own. Who knew a cork could be so porous? A grain of sand so crystalline? A mouse pointer so psychedelic? Our site's host, Alex, uses a handheld microscope called the ProScope HR, which is readily available for anyone to buy. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start examining the minutiae of the world. Who knows what might be lurking underneath your keyboard? (in Photography) |
