Remotely Connected Braving the possibility of utter mayhem, PBS has opened its doors to the irreverent, opinionated, and thoroughly unpredictable responses of a group of outside bloggers. For two months, these guest writers have been invited to weigh in on the network's fall programming. And though they're behaving themselves so far, that doesn't mean mischief isn't afoot. Alice Bradley's reenactment of watching Masterpiece Theatre's "Casanova" with a drowsy husband and his fictional alter ego has to be one of the funniest reviews of the series ever. And when Merlin Mann of 43 Folders takes on "Animals Behaving Worse," he refuses to kowtow to the dominance of nature documentaries, ending with the rousing, if ominous, line: "These animals are mad, but they are clearly not stupid." Neither is PBS—and we're hoping they'll maintain contact with Remotely Connected. (in Television) |
