The Smoking Gun: Lust for Laughs Before performers go on tour, they often supply venues with lists of backstage requirements. Called "concert riders," these often lavish demands can touch on anything from dressing room items and speaker set-ups to dietary preferences. The Smoking Gun has celebrated riders in the past (a certain diva's propensity for all things white comes to mind), but none has been as entertaining as this 18-page masterpiece from Iggy Pop and The Stooges. Veterans of the rock circuit, Iggy's roadies aren't content to simply itemize the band's needs; they pepper the rider with anecdotes, unsolicited advice for TV and film crews, and a detailed catalog of Iggy's taste for great food and wine. The document is a wonderfully humorous read and ends satisfactorily off topic. (in Rock and Pop)
