Unflinching Triumph
You've  heard of competitive eating. You're familiar with log rolling, roller derby, and extreme bodybuilding. Now step inside the unblinking world of the fiercest underground sport you've never heard of: staredown. "Unflinching Triumph" tells the story of Philip Rockhammer, the Rocky Marciano of the dogged gaze, and his attempt to take the trophy at the National Association of Staredown Professionals' national championship. This film has it all: the resentful girlfriend, the straight-talking manager, the cutthroat competitors, and the trauma that might keep Phillip from reaching the top. Gape at such world-class eye-locks as "wrestling the woodpecker" (an intent frown) and "jamming the crankshaft" (a trembling eyebrow raise that flashes the whites of the eyes).
