Pictures You Can't Take Anymore The name of this Flickr photo group is both a celebration and a lament: "Pictures You Can't Take Anymore." Isn't that what photography is all about—capturing slices of time that will never happen again? Sometimes they are remarkable moments, and we have a beautiful, expressive photo to celebrate our luck or skill behind the camera. Other times, the value of the image captured during that 500th of a second isn't realized until it's too late. These fleeting visions range from hazy images of lost jazz stars to snapshots of the 1964 New York World's Fair to documentation of a fully outfitted Loch Ness Investigation bus. But they all (and here the group is very strict) come from the photographers themselves—swiping images off news sites is strictly forbidden. Lesson learned: Keep your cameras handy and never stop taking pictures you can't take anymore. (in Photography)
