Monday Musings at 3 Quarks Daily 3 Quarks Dailyscours the Web for an ever-changing mix of scientific, political, and arty topics. But on the first of each week, this "filter blog" takes a break from its online hunt to present Monday Musings, a column of original content from its editors or guest columnists. Like the site's interests in general, Monday Musings wanders all over the place. One week you may get a rumination on Eurobashing. The next it will be a brief discussion of Iraq or cancer. We've come upon an ode to airports, an admiring piece on how Katharine Hepburn was a "whore" (read it to understand), and a consideration of the Hasidic rapper Matisyahu. One of our favorite pieces examines Darwin's list of the pros and cons of marriage. Another mulls the "accidentally beautiful" land of eastern Kentucky, which is "ravaged by gorges and pock-marked with hollers." We all need a day of rest—and musing. (in Blogs)
