100 Awesome Music Videos The staff at Pitchfork, the online music mag, gave up pretending they weren't spending all their time on YouTube and created this list of their 100 favorite music videos. With just two rules—the clips must be available on the video-sharing site and they must be "roughly from the MTV era"—the music mavens foraged among the ripe offerings, indulging in anything they really enjoyed, regardless of musical ability or cinematic talent (though both are here in spades). As you will see, they interpreted "awesome" in the full range of its meanings: We spotted the splendid (A-Ha's "Take on Me"), the wondrous (DJ Shadow's "Six Days"), the grand (Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher"), and the fearsome (The Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew in "Super Bowl Shuffle"). Pitchforks, we applaud your efforts—and look forward to more of your time-wasting endeavors. (in Music) |
