64mm Vlog For the skateboarder, spectacular failure lurks in every moment. A guy will be cruising from one side of the ramp to the other, sloping back and forth, jumping, turning, momentarily airborne, and then, bam, he's slapped across the cement. But that's the deal the skateboarder makes with gravity, and this video blog, or "vlog," documents that bargain in regularly posted clips. Recently, the site put up a video of two 8-year-olds from Southern California. The boys wipe out over and over—to the point where you start to wonder where their mother is. Then, suddenly, one of them launches, soars, nails the landing, and breezes out of the shot. And in that moment, the entire endeavor, the whole negotiation with ground and sky and ramp, looks entirely worth it. (in Sports) |
