Famous for 15mb It's only in its fourth month, but already Famous for 15mb has established itself as a spirited curator of rare sounds and experimental music videos. In a recent visit to the online magazine, we discovered a tribute to both John Coltrane and Rogers and Hammerstein that was recorded on three Game Boys, a bass, and a bow. We took in a video of Hong Kong's streets during a monsoon, which was accompanied by a haunting lament from Scottish musician Ivor Cutler. And we waded through a "muddy field recording" from Sweden, complete with birds chirping and traffic blowing by. Genres such as post-funk/rock, drone/lo-fi, Southern pop, and (our favorite) "intimate" cropped up, and we lingered over this line, which summed up so much of this eccentric, joyful site: "He started making music with a Casio and Hit Sticks but now uses anything he can find."
