The Envelope The Latin Grammys. The Golden Globes. The Academy Awards. Oh, the onslaught. But over-stimulated entertainment junkies now have reason to rejoice, for The Los Angeles Times presents (drumroll, please) The Envelope! Calling itself "the ultimate awards site" (nobody ever got anywhere in this town without a little braggadocio), The Envelope promises to be a one-stop shop for everything from gossipy backstories to teary acceptance speeches. And, with news, facts, and commentary for every ceremony that ever cast a spotlight on Uma Thurman or Mariah Carey, it looks likely to accomplish its goal. We enjoyed dipping into the archives, the fashion coverage (The Grammys: "from stunning to sleazy"), and the extensive photo galleries. And we sat up straight for the rules on how to be an Oscar expert: Rule #1: Best picture = big picture. Lesson learned. So, when they rip open the envelope, don't be caught by surprise -- think big.
