The Bubble Project One New Yorker has had enough. Fed up with the loss of communal spaces to corporate propaganda, this angry soul has decided to fight back. With bubbles. Or more accurately, large empty adhesive "thought bubbles." This is how it works: The bubbles are affixed to advertisements around the city, and passersby are free to fill them in -- thus fulfilling the goal of transforming the "corporate monologue into an open dialogue." The site displays the best results, and organizes them by themes such as media and fashion, art and philosophy, and humor. E.T., flying through the air on a bicycle, pleads, "Please let me die in peace." Golem from Lord of the Rings mulls to himself, "Desperately seeking purpose." A smiling newscaster thinks, "Robinson, you're a liar!" Oh, and watch out. Your city may be bubbled soon. (in Marketing & Advertising) |
