Metro Bits This fantastic pictorial shrine to subway systems the world over celebrates the art of the commute. The Arts and Architecture page -- the highlight of the gallery -- features jaw-dropping interior shots of metro stations in places as far flung as Pyongyang (North Korea), Baku (Azerbaijan), and Tashken (Uzbekistan). Metros with a View shows off scenic snaps taken from subway trains (don't miss the utterly strange Atomium building in Brussels). And the Voices in the Deep section collects departure sounds and next-station announcement descriptions. Unfortunately, it lacks sound files, but the text is still pretty charming: "Bilbao: There's a faint chirping sound while the doors are open and a series of warning beeps when they close."
