Network for Good: Hurricane Relief Efforts As rescue workers race to aid survivors of the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast, the rest of us see images and hear accounts of the unbelievable destruction Katrina left in her path and look for a way we too can help. Network for Good, an "e-philanthropy site," offers just such an opportunity. Serving as a clearinghouse for agencies providing disaster assistance to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, the site provides background on each group and makes it easy to donate money. The American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity are all represented here, though they certainly aren't the only organizations involved. If you're looking for a more comprehensive list, Yahoo! editors have compiled this catalog of relief efforts and funds from across the U.S. (in Society and Culture > Philanthropy) |
