Bye Bye Blackboard... From Einstein and Others There once was a time when professors didn't "immortalize" lectures with PowerPoint slides, dry-erase markers didn't stink up meeting rooms, and some unlucky kid had to stay after class to clean erasers. Blackboards ruled the world. Now superseded, the chalkboard has gone the way of the trash heap -- and the museum. Inspired by a preserved blackboard marked by Einstein's elegant scrawl, the Museum of the History of Science at Oxford University invited some well-known Brits to take up the chalk. This exhibit of 18 unique blackboards features scribes ranging from a chef to a cartoonist to a bishop. You may enjoy it here in dramatic white on black (of course!) without the requisite squeaks or accompanying dust. (in Physics)
