J.K. Rowling With today's long-awaited publication of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," J.K. Rowling's official site should be absolutely besieged by fans. Regardless, we could no longer resist its magical powers. Even if you don't give an owl's hoot about Harry Potter, this site offers the author's mysterious, cluttered workspace to explore -- and Rowling clearly loves a good treasure hunt. She hides "Potterania" throughout the site and offers extra-special content to the "curious and clever" who discover it. The famous author redesigned the site last February. She posts to it regularly, and uses it to put rumors to rest, share information that's excluded from the books, and hint about Harry's future. Rowling's site conjures a world of the senses, evoking the game Myst as much as her world-famous novels. (in Literature > Authors) |
