How Did They Get That Name? Coming up with a good band name is tricky. For every cool-sounding Velvet Underground, there are a dozen Chumbawambas. Of course, guidelines for this subtle art do exist. The name must be witty. And it has to be original -- no fair calling yourself Nirvana 2.0. With all the rules, it's not surprising that many bands sought inspiration from their surroundings. The "Where Did They Get That Name" game quizzes visitors on the origin of band names like "Bachman Turner Overdrive" (it's from a trucker's magazine) and the Backstreet Boys (a Florida flea market). Don't fret -- there are also questions on bands you might actually like. For example, Duran Duran was named after a villain from Barbarella and Echo and the Bunnyman comes from a drum machine.
