Joan's Monets Is it possible to improve the paintings of the master of Impressionism? Aunt Joan thinks so -- especially if they're printed on a calendar. To Aunt Joan, Monet's classic haystacks seemed to lack a certain je ne sais quoi (literally, "this picture is boring"). Armed with stickers and a keen eye for color and composition, she enhanced all 12 months of Monets. Suddenly, with the mere addition of Mickey, Minnie, and a few other Disney characters, Water Lilies is transformed into a carnival of visual delight. Monet's portrait of the lady on a bench just needed some fast food and a few coins to bring the so-called masterpiece into the 21st century. So, take a break and enjoy a year of Monets -- improved by Aunt Joan. (in Visual Arts) |
