Understanding VORN It sounds like a moody Scandinavian film, but it's actually an intriguing randomly generated art project. The premise: Every five minutes the site's legions of tiny software spiders scour weblogs for the most recently posted pictures that begin with the letter V, O, R, or N. These images are then presented in a two-by-two grid. Voila -- art. Most of the images come from the web journals of American teenagers, so there's a high angst factor. Recent VORN views featured pictures of house parties, indie album covers, Napoleon Dynamite screen shots, nerd test results, a Bill Gates mug shot, and plenty of Dali-esque doodles.
