Winds & Wings
Oh,  how we long to soar like the birds! While it's still anatomically impossible, human ingenuity has gotten us close to that physical and emotional high. Go up, up, and away on whimsical machines ultralight pilot Alex Gore built in an attempt to simulate the freedom and exhilaration our feathered friends take for granted. Not surprisingly, aerial photos of Alex and crew's Floridian flights of fancy are this site's main attraction. Lucky for the earthbound, their journeys can be enjoyed from the safety of a desktop. Also worth a gander are videos of some of their less effective flying contraptions (a flying bicycle?). Regardless of their flight success or failure rate, these brash birdmen deserve credit for hatching up this positively pretty layover. (in Recreation & Sports > Aviation) |
