20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Only at the Magic Kingdom do otherwise normal, well-adjusted adults become fawning groupies. Case in point: this loving tribute to Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: The Ride. For a guy who states "The 20K ride was so good I can't even talk about it," Dave, the proprietor of the site, manages to say a lot. As a 3-year-old, Dave took his first and only ride to the bottom of Disney's man-made sea. As an adult, he's gone to great lengths (or is it depths?) to compile photos and videos of a now defunct attraction. While the pictures are definitely worth a look, the site's real treats are the interviews with the "20Kers," the fearless sailors who worked on the submarines. Dive beneath the surface of this site and you may discover why the ride had such an effect on Dave and why it started a "lifelong infatuation with the undersea world." (in Recreation & Sports) |
