One  of the Internet's first true hits was Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Mixing humor with powerful calculations, the site inspired imitators and spawned a series of credit-card commercials. Crafty music nut Kevin Finn resurrects the connectivity idea in this engaging site that looks at the degrees of separation between rock bands. "Revolving door" proves to be an accurate description of bands and side projects when you learn that a hefty 16 degrees separate Blink-182 and the Beastie Boys. The helpful list of bands will surely have you clicking to find the ties binding your favorite groups. If you're stunned by only 11 degrees separating Duran Duran from Satanic Slaughter, you're missing the obvious connections between death metal and the perfect shade of mascara.
