Disembodied Voices As new technologies are introduced, our personal space is eroding. Mobile phones, in particular, invade the public arena with one-way conversations piling one on top of another, creating urban ear pollution. This project is "a visual representation of how different bodies communicate across space, using cell phones as a metaphor for the new translocal of connected, disembodied voices, linked across space invisibly." What does that mean? You have to experience it. Start by picking one of a dozen voices. Soon you'll be on a journey of sounds as the line between private and public is slowly erased. As the site puts it, "Where we are, in a sense, no longer matters since we are always connected." (in Entertainment) |
