They Made Me Do It Trends in pop culture are always evolving. After all, once upon a time Zubaz pants were all the rage, waterbeds were sexy, and graffiti was nothing more than an urban annoyance. Mercifully, that's all changed. We've wisely stopped dressing like florescent zebras, the world's waterbed population is near extinction, and graffiti is no longer just for vandals -- it's now an accepted form of art. They Made Me Do It, a site dedicated to promoting the UK's graffiti art scene, features truly amazing work from a host of artists. Inspired by everything from advertisements to film to contemporary history, the canvases you'll see here are honest, beautiful, and relevant to the times. And, if graffiti can make the jump from crime to art, who knows ... maybe spam has a shot at a Pulitzer. (in Visual Arts) |
