Pier 70 San Francisco San Francisco's Pier 70 is an area with a grand past and, if Ralph Wilson has his way, a bright future. Developed by the longtime San Francisco resident, this web site not only offers a nostalgic trip to the shipyard's early days, but also looks to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. When learning about history, it's best to start at the beginning, so kick off your journey with a lesson on how large warships were built back in the day. It took a lot of steel, men, and time to put one of those babies together. Next, take a photographic tour of the docks as they stand today. Finally, motor over to the section devoted to the potential of Potrero Point. Got a suggestion for what to do with "37 acres of prime bayfront land"? Send it in! Aware that a strong past shouldn't cloud the future's possibilities, this site's good-natured enthusiasm makes for a breath of fresh air. (in California) |
