Distorted: Don't Look Now Novels are adapted into movies all the time. (Didn't Grisham's latest book mention a few casting ideas in the preface?) However, it's not often a famous movie becomes something you can read like a book. This spooky site from Brendan Dawes turns the tables on that tradition by creating a kind of creepy pop-up book from the classic 1973 horror flick, Don't Look Now. Using specially created software, Dawes has condensed the feature into a series of pixilated images, allowing visitors to experience the two-hour fright fest in just a few clicks of the mouse. Of course, there is no dialogue and some images are distorted to the point of being unrecognizable, but the film's ominous spirit remains surprisingly intact. A fun and original site for the cinephile in all of us, this atmospheric reinterpretation does its source material proud. (in Movies & Film) |
