Exercises in Style History is full of epic clashes that lack a clear winner. In the '50s, Ford and Chevy battled for showroom supremacy. In '62, King Kong fought Godzilla to a fearsome draw off Tokyo's coast. And throughout time, we've all witnessed the bitter war between style's flash and substance's, well, substance. While the latter usually emerges the victor, we'd advise substance not rest on its laurels. Matt Madden's Exercises in Style just may sway popular opinion in the opposite direction. The site, inspired by a book of the same name, features a rather dull comic (hence the lack of substance) told in many creative ways (viva la style!). Even if the thought of reading about a guy aimlessly wandering around his house doesn't grab you, give this site a shot. What it lacks in depth it makes up for in creativity. (in Comic Strips) |
