Tacky Living Today's shrink-wrapped, consumer-driven culture offers endless opportunities for tackiness, probably more than any other time in history. Thanks to the Internet, Tanya Inman can spread the joy of tackiness exponentially. Obvious items warrant mention -- fuzzy dice (make your own!), tiki culture, and fridge magnets -- but tacky reaches new heights with TV antennas and TicTac pie. Tacky hits the road with car games, tourist trinkets, and tacky travel destinations (Tip: if there's no gift shop, pass on by). Crafty tacky folks can make their own miniature abandoned car gardens, while tacky foodies will appreciate knowing which brand of toaster pastry is best. If you can't imagine a world without plastic flamingoes, you might find yourself stuck at this tacky spot for days. (in Humor > Parody) |
