Big Lebowski What-Have-You Fest Although The Big Lebowski received a lukewarm reception when it was released, its legend thrives on the Web. The popularity of the Dude's story -- with its wacky plot twists, offbeat characters, and lots of bowling -- only increases with time (and repeated viewings). Following in the "proud" tradition of Trekkies, fans of everything Lebowski now have a place to meet up in person, bowl a frame or two, and enjoy a few White Russians. The Second Annual Lebowski Fest will take place on July 19, 2003, in Louisville at the AMF Rose Bowl. If pictures from the first shindig are any indication, even a nihilist can have a good time. If you're not observing Shabbas, take a peek at photos of the "Dude" mobile or read the latest news from festival central. Whether you decide to venture into the Bluegrass State or just drift along with the tumbleweeds, the Dude abides. The Dude abides. (in Movie Tributes) |
