Design for Chunks Airport security and terrorism may inspire fear of flying in some, but other passengers have a more pressing problem in the air -- motion sickness. And who wants to vomit in a boring, dull paper bag? The hip designers behind this site have come to the rescue with a collection of fashionable air-sickness bags. Some bags colorfully illustrate their function, while others distract the ailing with a pinup girl, a clever labyrinth puzzle, or an inspirational message. Karen Carpenter graces the first in a series of Celebrity Sick Bags, and another receptacle bag alludes to those "gods of chunder and rock and roll," KISS. One bag even pokes fun at Virgin CEO Richard Branson. A cheery gingham print brightens the unpleasant proceedings too. Don't miss the Goonies reference or pastel Mr. Yukky Baggy for Girls. It may not be high art, but it's definitely utilitarian. (in Design Arts) |
