Lewis and Clark 200 In the two centuries since Meriwether Lewis and William Clark trekked across its wild terrain, America has doubled in size and become a country bustling with industry. Despite the nation's growing pains, the historic Lewis and Clark trail remains a testament to the adventurous American spirit. More than a business directory, this bicentennial site gathers scenic points of interest and service related to the trail. In addition, it offers insights into Sacagawea, the expedition's native guide, as well as current info on little-known museums. Although the commercial slant is evident here, the site offers great links to souvenirs, visitors' centers, and a calendar of cultural events in 19 states. If you and your family are considering a fun, educational road trip this summer, this is a good place to start. (in Lewis and Clark) |
