Carthalia - Theatres on Postcards
This  huge repository of postcards depicting grand gathering places features a photographic history of over 1,200 buildings in more than 85 countries. Just about every kind of theatrical venue is represented, from ancient theaters and opera houses to cabarets and concert halls. You'll also find cards that show blazing infernos, war-ravaged ruins, and paintings of theaters. The collection spans from Algeria to Vietnam, with dozens of countries in between. For some examples of the decidedly eccentric, head over to the Gallery of Oddities for details on some wonderful, old "holes in the wall."
