Weight Watchers Recipe Cards, Circa 1974 Weight Watchers is a multi-billion dollar company that has helped millions of people drop unwanted pounds. But 30 years ago it was a different kind of company... or at least it offered different kinds of recipes. The creator of this site unearthed these recipe cards while cleaning out a basement and wanted to share the gastronomical gems. The folks planning the recipes back in 1974 must have consumed a heaping bowl of Inspiration Soup before concocting the meals featured here. Start the tour with the Cabbage Casserole Czarina, work through the Chicken Liver Bake, and then take a gander at the Mexican Shrimp-Orange Salad. Some recipes are truly mind-boggling. Take the Fluffy Mackerel Pudding, a mixture of fish, eggs, and other assorted ingredients. Or the Frankfurter Spectacular, an amazing tower of hot dogs which looks to be surrounded by a mouth-watering pineapple-carrot-frank salad. Pay particular attention to the backgrounds in the photos.
