John's Switch to Canada John Bender has made the switch. No, not from a PC to a Mac (although he's working on that) -- the switch from America to Canada. After driving north to visit his future wife, John came to the conclusion that Canada offers more democracy and freedom than the U.S., not to mention universal health care and a national anthem people can actually sing. In fact, he loves his new country so much, he's made his own parody Mac "switch" video to proclaim Canada's glories and decry the sorry state of American politics and smelly money. However, he isn't rabidly anti-American. Instead, John gently points out areas of improvement for the U.S., specifically areas that Canada has gotten right. His reasons to switch? The U.N. ranked Canada as one of the top five places in the world to live, Reporters Without Borders listed Canada as having the fifth freest press in the world, and the World Audit rated Canada's democracy as ninth in the world. With humor and style, this site pokes blind American patriotism in the eye and hints at the peace and tolerance of our neighbors to the north. (in Political Humor) |
