Music's  long history involves borrowing from previous styles and genres to create new forms and sounds. Sampling has been on the rise over the last 20 years, and the latest incarnation of this new art form involves borrowing lines spoken by characters in movies and television. This ambitious site attempts to catalog the instances of this particular type of sample. With a full list of sample sources, you'll learn that Blade Runner is the movie most often mined for source material, but scroll further and you'll find diverse examples from Tron to Cabin Boy. Just as interesting is the list cross-referenced by artist, highlighting musicians who rely most heavily on the sampler. Dominated by industrial artists, the extensive list may be the only place you'll find Supertramp and Ice Cube sharing the same stage.
