History of U.S. Armies in Uniform Proving the Internet knows no bounds when it comes to odd combinations, this military history lesson/toy figurine site will leave you amazed and, quite possibly, a bit bewildered. The brainchild of an obsessed collector, this extremely detailed look at the evolution of uniforms takes you from the French and Indian War to the current War on Terrorism. Each iteration of American soldier clothing is rendered here in 1/6th scale along with a detailed account of the soldier's outfit, weaponry, and gear. For starters, we recommend checking out the Minuteman of 1775, the Doughboy of WWI, and the Tora Bora Special Ops Soldier. The oddity of dolls dressed in full military regalia eventually wears off, and you're left with a cool look at the uniform history of our armed forces. (in U.S. History) |
