Skulls A site devoted to skulls may sound rather morbid. Surprisingly, this fascinating site is anything but. The California Academy of Sciences invites you to "Come in, explore, and get inside our heads." We did just that, starting with the "What is a Skull?" section, where we met the folks associated with the exhibit and read their varied and insightful introductions to the subject. The Diversity and Living Tissues sections taught us what a skull says about its owner. And in Skulls in Culture, we examined how artists such as Georgia O¿Keeffe and the Grateful Dead have used the object symbolically in their art. We promise you¿ll never look at a skull the same way.
