PopCult Magazine Whenever this site's creator visited a newsstand, he would become crestfallen after realizing the magazine he really wanted didn't exist. So, Coury Turczyn took matters into his own hands and hatched PopCult, an online magazine that "addresses pop culture as a general subject, journalistically covering its history and its creators." The site overflows with well-written stories and engaging photo galleries, but our favorite section, Passing Fancies, takes the dissection of American pop culture to a new level. Check out the Bottom 5 Archive, a compelling repository of lists like MTV's Most Insulting Programs and America's Most Superfluous Yet Self-Important Magazines. Thankfully, the site not only highlights popular culture, it also skewers it. (in Society and Culture Magazines) |
